<Expedition Team Leader>
Age 75. Born in Aomori, Japan, 1932. Graduated Hokkaido University, Department of Veterinary. Competed in Italian Kilometer Lanchard (Speed Skiing Competition) in 1964 marking the world record at that time. Skied down Mt. Fuji using parachutes as breaking device in 1966. Skied down Mt. Everest from South Col (8000m) in 1970, with its documentary film winning the Academy Award in 1976. Conquered and skied down all seven summits of the world by 1985. In May 2003, became the world’s oldest Everest Summiter at the time together with his second son Gota as the first Japanese father-and-son summit. Internationally known as Adventure Skier as well as opinion leader in sports, culture and education arenas in Japan. Principal of CLARK Memorial International High School.
